KLEPSIDRA - MUDA TU PIEL(RIMER ROCK / CD´2006) ESPANA
This is the second release from this hard and heavy rock act from valencia for their label Rimer Records.In opposi tion to the debut everything sounds here anything a little bit rounder. But let´s start this review at first with a little retrospektive to the beginning of this formation. Their label published back in 2004 their selftitled debut. Yes, of course RIMER ROCK is the baby of FORTU SANCHEZ who is well known from his band OBUS. Natural he helped the boys on their debut with some chorus parts too. This album featured a couple of good heavy rock tunes in the style of the old BADANA or for example COZ. I think that there also the spanish legend LENO is another main influe nce too.Remindable tracks as VOY POR TI or ECOS DE SOCIEDAD made this recording collectable for every fan of
this style. Now two years later the band hold on their etablished style of the debut. But as I wrote at the beginning sounds now everything a bit rounder, more original and fresh. BAJO MI VOZ is a perfect opener to start an album at high level. SANTI FERNANDEZ put around this recording the perfect sound. MUDA TU PIEL (CHANGEYOUR SKIN) the titletrack is a latin heavy rock tune which spreads from the begin ning a lot of good mood. One listen and you will never forget this fine melodyline!!! Raw with the flavour of an early 80ies Hard Rock cut start TRES MINUTOS MAS...,but never I have the feeling that this is a cheap retrosounding track. With the nessary bunch in the back acts one of my favorites MI BARRIO as next. Listen there the fine guitarwork of the senores VALENTIN MUNOZ and J.RAMON HUEDO. CONFESIONES EN SILENCIO drives us in the same listenable impressive style on. Time to rethink offers then the melan coly CONFESIONES EN SILENCIO. I can good imagine how fine could be the live presence of a true heavy rocker like NADA, NADIE. Hard edged with some slight epic influences crowns the fine TREINTA ANOS (THIRTY YEARS) this album. Against the hellish title EN EL INFIERNO starts this following tune in the style of a great rockballad and reminds me many moments on such legendary quite moments in the history of BARRICADA too. Fianlly finds the album an end with the strong rocker DECEPCIONADO. I am really impressed from this second work which represent really this band. KYRIE ELEISON-IN THE ARMS OF DECADENCE
(BLACK MEDUSA REC/CD´2007) ARGENTINA
Here we go again with another hot argentinian melodic power metal act.After an imposant intro starts the suberb produced album with the semi classical metal track FACING THE RAGE. Spontan reminds me this composition on a mix of the best tracks by YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and RAINBOW. I can hear also slight influences by SYMPHONY X. But KYRIE ELEISON isn´t another plagiat of this well know bands. Rather this act could be the next big thing. ALE JANDRO FERNANDEZ is a perfect singer with a fantastic voice. Also the fact that all lyrics are written in english shows the ambition of the band to reach international success . Personal I think their chance to become the needful attention outside of south america is more than perfect.Beside their multitalent DIEGO RIHEIRO COUTO who handles all guitar and the keyboard parts sovereign too this group reigns on the top of the bands of this genre. Several bom bastic orchestral arranged compositions are fulfiled by guest apperances. So in
side the fantastic more than seven minute long epos CHILDREN OF PAIN we enjoy a female choir esemble in the back ground. In the midlepart a lovely female voice shares the vocal parts with Alejandro. Further two tracks contai ns violin parts as well in an other one they use a cello too. But the bigest aha effect on this album is for me the final track THE SHOW MUST GO ON from the unforgotten dramatic rock gods QUEEN explains and offers the undisputed qualities of this great band once more. KRÜGER-SKALBI I STALB (ROCK AND STEEL)(CD-MAXIMUM / CD´2007) RUSSIA
I don´t know how many albums this russian raw power metal trio published untill know. Somewhere back in 1992 they released their first album on vinyl.Back in this days the band was manifested in the death metalsce ne . During their long exist the style turned into the so called diesel rock. In other words is this original descri btion a mix of different styles.After a chaotic sounding intro starts the titletrack in an unique speedy polka metal style. More serious would be perhaps the describtion of speed laden melodious metal influenced by TANK, MÖTORHEAD and the country mates EST. Beside the chaotic but catchy track impress the good guitar player. After some quite and relaxing acoustic tunes is than DOGS OF WAR well structured. This powerful war monger convince the listener with double female/male vocallines in the best horrormetal style.After this surprise runs the following LEADERS OF GENERATIONS with mega heavyriffs beside the beautyful voice of GINA "ROCK´N´ ROLL" (she handles the bass too). Yeäh, direct in line
cracks than the next neckbreaker STRENGTH AND HONOUR. This tune is again back to the roots mostly staffed with raw vocals by the guitarist with the culty pseudonym HAMER. The rockin´ and rollin HUNDRED MIRRORS amaze the liste ner still with well performed female / male vocals. Harsh and speedy strikes THE BIRD´S WINGS. Balladesc and lovely beginns with acou stic guitars in contri bution with GINAS voice a by the russian tradition (folk roots) influenced mega heavy / power ballad with the title WAITING FOR A MONSTER (I could listen this hymn again and again!). This great con cept story/song (cele brated in three parts with a running time of more than ten minutes) finds then a break with a furi ous guitar intro before the last chapter of the song in the best 80ies inspired Heavy Metal this album ends. Of course the whole concept of the story behind the recording is celebrate with russian lyrics (I only used here the english trans lation). I am sure this album and some of their last publishings like the LIVE CD or the stun ning NO COMPRO MISE album will act perfect in your collection. KALAPACS - MITOSZ(HAMMER RECORDS / CD & DVD´2008) HUNGARY
Together with the latest releases by OSSIAN and POKOLGEP is the new KALAPACS album the top of the hungarian metal scene. After the hard sounding last release ELETREITELET acts this fantastic new release again in the more moderate traditional power metal vain. It seems that the group rise with this new work to a higher level. The whole recording is dominate by strong compo sitions.Behind the intro for this concept story about the mytos and legends about Hungaria starts the album with the impressiv A KARD. Strong double leads and a tight ryhtmus secction escort the extra ordinary voice of JOZSEF KALAPACS. The former lead singer of hungarians power metal gods OMEN runs since years with KALAPACS the next big thing. Beside
without the adding of the solo album from JOZSEF KALAPACS is it meanwhile the 6th release of the band. Without a doubt is MITOSZ now the crown of the suc cess. Through the vari ous styled traditional Heavy Metal and up tempo Power Metal tracks never lost this album a single second their authentic. Since the beginning the band is in the classic metal vain organized. In other words all their recordings are free of any keyboard ballast. The follower HAZAFELE reigns in a more uptempo vain. During VERIINK ES VEREJTEKÜNK is an epic heavy metal hymn in the best turn to their former releases. Back to steamy unboundable Power Metal leads us then A SOLYMOK FESKE
. This fantastic banger could be stand on one of the first POKOLGEP albums too. No wonder because on his long musical journey in the hungarian metal scene was he the original vocalist for POKOLGEP. No doubt the both guitarist´s LAJOS SARKOZI and LASZLO WEISZ are extraorbitant masters on their instru ments. The melodic power hymn CSARADAL let you skip automatic after the first listening the repeat key.If you have enough listen this famous track the rockin PUSTU LAS DATA returns you back to the basic metal. Mystic and magical tells you AS A NEP MEG MINDIG ET a legend from the past. The chorus lines are refreshed here with a good female singer (RENATA TOTH). One of the most powerfull compositions is then UTO LSOKIVAN SAG. Without rest starts z´ pounding hammer BERSÜLET HUSEG VITEZ SEG before another up tempo power / speed hammer with the title ÖSI TÖR VENY once more wear out your neckmuscles. The fine ballance of midtempo rocker con firms LEGENDAK KÖNYVE too. In following this concept is the final ÖSSZETAR TOZUNK a straight acting
metal basher. So there is ab solute no doubt as I wrote at the beginn ing of my review that KALAPACS new effort locks up to the top of hungarians metal acts. Of course the album is in sale as a re gular release or for z´ real fans together with a limi ted 30 track ! live DVD. No question that I prefer this edition. This DVD contains two different concerts. First we see a liverecording at the DEVILS MEETING gig in Budapest/ Pecsa from november 19th ´2005.This gig concerts 18 tracks plus an intro duction to the show. The camera lea ing is perfect arranged and the set is packed with numerous fine metal classics from the four primal recordings. But not enough the rich furnis hed DVD contains a second live gig from the FORR A DALOM festival in oktober´2004. Again features the live recording 12 more fine tracks. With MINDAHA LALIG ROCK AND ROLL,MENNYIT ERSZ, ITT ES MOST and B.S. EMELEKERE (only too name a few) are also some POKOLGEP numbers from the past on the
start. With a total running time from more than 120 minutes is this DVD value for the money. If you prefer impressive live recor dings you shou ld watch this second very profes sional filmed show from HAMMER RECORDS. The band act there in front of a big crowd and celebrates a brilliant firework of classic Power Metal tunes. You can watch there such classics as GYIL KOLOGEP, BÜN and CIR KUSZ ES RACS from the debut album (AZ ELSÖ MEREN YLET) in up to date versions. Together with the impres ive fans and a good lightshow is this show well worth to see. As a special tip for all the collectors is be side this fantastic new album is the in `2005 released 3rd album TOTEM to ment ion.Because as bonus contains this strong studiowork four more professional made videoclips. KHAFRA - MISANTROPIA(DISCOS DENVER DSD-6347 / CD´2005) MEXICO
One of the oldest and best Power Metal bands from Mexico City returns with this great new album on the scene. We remember ther quartett start back in 1984 on the legen dary AVANZADA METALICO label with their de but album. Since today is this selftitled vinyl one of the alltime classics of the mexican metal scene. If will fall names like LUZBEL, RAXAS, FONGUS, HUIZAR or MEGATON should be nobody forget the name of this metal pioneers. After the concurs of this famous metal label a new company DISCOS DENVER rereleased this hard to get vinyl in 1995 together with the fine second strike GEN ERACIONES as discs. The successful game of releasing pro ducts continues with the albums LA VIBORAS CAM BIAN DE PIEL (1996)and the great compilation of old unrele ased tracks

KECUP - LIVE(POL S.R.O. PRODUCTION / CD´2006) CZECH REPUBLIC
Since so many years is this hard and heavy institution from Plzen in the Czech Republic now with several successful albums on the start. This latest live recording is now since a couple of days one of my absolut best frequent discs in my player. I think the band start somewhere back in 1992 and published their debut album CAU BROUKU two years later on the Prague based little indie label Elton Music. Meanwhile after four studio recordings present us the band their live album. Behind the cool introductiom APLAUS starts the set with the energetic melodic hard rock tune POVALEC from their latest studio album FRONTALNI UTOK (published on
POP RON MUSIC). Also the following JA TE VOLAM convince us all with a fantastic combination of metal orientated guitar rhytm and typical czech bigbeat arrangements. I don´t know from which recording is the cut SLU NE .It doesn´t matter because this is another brilliant composition in this recomended style. Again with a lot of drive and a catchy melody line fol lows KECUP NA ZADECH another song from their present studio album. JE TO DAVNO is a typical slight melancoly rocky ballad in the bigbeat style of the late OLYMPIC or TEAM. With ZAPOMEN enters the band their history. This classic melodic tune was original on their third album ...CO MA BEJT (BETH MUSIC 1997). Stroke for stroke continues the album from now on with fine me lodic pearls from the long history of KECUP. The rockin tune AIDS from their 2nd out of print album SVATEBNI (released 1996 on DE LEX CLIENT RECORDS) is then another remindable rocker. Also JAKO KVET is a tune from this recording session and not a single tact
weaker. SRDCE NA KLIC from the actual album acts a bit more moderate... Back to the pure rockin bigbeat style leads us VINO, ZENY, ZPEV from their debut album. Time to regenerate delivers the rock tune IZABELA IX. 
The power rags on again with NECH ME BEJT another metallic inspired rocker from the actual studio disc. I remember to hear in the czech radio airplay the tune NEZRADIM which catches with his emotional vibes the hearts of the pub lic. Catchy hard rock time is then with NEZRADIM and it is logical that such a tune turns on the mood of the crowd. Back to an old but still class chapter brings us SLADKY RECI from the ...CO MA BEJT session. Follo wed from the hard and heavy classic TRAPENI from the debut CAU BROU KU. Oh, I love it when the crowd is in mood and follows the act in word and melody. So it happens there with the great song SLEPA from ...CO MA BEJT . The re gular concert recording ends finally with this fine song. But the album con tains four more bonus tracks. NARKOMANIE starts this part in the best melodic metal style. By the way this is a studio recording. During OPILCOVO RANO is a live recording full of energy and of course also in the circle of melodic heavy rock too. I don´t have by the moment an idea from which recording session is this stunnin cut original. META LOVEJ VIKEND is the absolute hymn from the present album and there is no matter this live version kills without end. Track 21 is then last but not least another quite tune with the title BALADA PRO SOGU. This impressive LIVE recording is also as proffesional filmed DVD available. KRLES - PERUNOVO REQUIEM(SIA PRODUCTION / CD´2008) CZECH REPUBLIC
Without a doubt is every new release of KRLES balsam for my energy ladden metal nervs. No matter also their latest publishing PERUNOVO REQUIEM pumps the maximum power in my metal heart...!!! Unbelieveable how hard this sympathic group walks straight from the beginning to the top of the czech classic Heavy Metal throne.
Anything starts someone back in the mid of the 90ies, but first in 1999 was the release date of the debut DEJTE PLAMENUM CO HORI. From the start the con cept was clear ~ traditional Heavy Metal orientated on such big classic acts as ACCEPT, IRON MAIDEN or the czech metal heroes as KREYSON,KERN and even CITRON. Wright from the beginning RADEK SADOVSKY (guitar), JIRI ZIMA (on the bass) and JIRI SMELIK (drumgod) hold on this straight orientation. By the way at this time was the female vocalist Mrs. SIMONA KRTENOVA and the second gui tarist JIRI KARPJUK. DEJTE PLAMENUM HORI was the first chapter on the way to bigger success. I think metal hymns like the titletrack or just for example ZLE ZO, ZLATU A HNUJ or BASTARD helped KRLES enorm to etablish them on the metal landscape. In a relativ short time scedule followed two years later the second even more impressive album TO. Again strikes the quartett there with highclass metaltracks. Especially the good guitarwork and 
the listen- or better re mindable vocallines by SIMONA KRTENOVA shoot this disc to a higher ground. Contrary to the debut album set the band from now on no more only on a concentration to their frontsinger. The lineup on this second strike was constant and helped the group lift up to the next level. After endless concerts and touring all over the Czech Repu blic left SIMONA KRTENOVA the band. But this situation didn´t stoped KRLES. It made them 
stronger than ever. With the third release SLLZY ARKONY presents us this fantastic band another great female singer. ZUZANA MARTINCOVA voice is full of power and in contri bution to the now more straight Heavy/ Power Metal laden direction works this perfect. Of course SILZY ARKONY was till know my absolute favorite disc from KRLES. Energetic metal tunes as ZKRAT, the powertune RYTIRI BEZKONI or the incredible epic metalmonster SLZY ARKONY will with out any doubts forever immortal in every metal heart. I don´t know what was the reason that ZUZANA MARTINCOVA lost after this suberb recording too the band. But it doesn´t mat ter. I only wonder where thegroup recurite alwas again such suberb female vocalists. Did the celebrate special private castings...ha,ha ! Just a joke...!!! However with the join ing of LUCIE RUBICKOVA checked in the most impres sive female vocalist by KRLES. Her great voice is exact what this metal machine needs. Surprise, surprise... ten years after the start was then in 2006 the re lease party for the first BEST OF... TIME TO RISE album. Yep, this working title is to the point. Again rise the group, but the long time guitarist JIRI KARPJUK quit his work finally at this time. Luckly we helped als guest musican to rerecord the first twelve tracks on the album. In comparsion is LUCIE´S vocal debut high at the top. There is no reason for any critic, because she pronounce her english
vocalines without mistakes somewhere between DORO PESCH and JUTTA WEINHOLD. So far, so good last but not least joined in the following time with SALI a good new guitarist for JIRI KARPJUK. Loaded full with fresh en ergy publish the metal team in 2008 their new work PERUNOVO REQUIEM. A short intro and we find us direct in the opening smasher SOUMRAK BOHU. Marching Heavy Metal with speedy guitarlines and a incredible voice made this album wright from the start to an adven ture!!! Yep, luckly "RUBY" LUCIE turns back to czech lyrics.By the way I like her english vocals too but the real magic spreads for me the vocallines in her native language.
Hard and heavy riffs and an unforgetable melody stands behind POSEDLOST. Yeäh, bring back the real steel. Let us prey to the metalgods. The perfect soundtrack to this ritual could be a ener getic hymn as VYHORE NI. All the lovers of ZED YAGO, ACCEPT or even perfect styled Heavy Metal with a tight frontlady should listen such a tune as NECHTE ME BEJT !!! If you think that the band reached with this tune their highest level you are absolu te and comple te on the wrong train. A fourious riff laden metal attack as PROKLETA could be also stand at the first two legen dary WARLOCK albums too. Keep on your headphones, crank up the volume to reach all the fine epic details of the incredible moody metalhit EKOKALYPSA. Beside marching rhythm and the hypnotic vocal lines of RUBY rises this composition in the continue more and more on magic. It´s a long time ago that a band had the great idea to end one of their songs with a children choir.Back to the straight guitar driven real steel catapults us then VYKOUPENI KRVI. No matter it´s a pleasure to bang pride in tact to the hammering riffs. Like in a blessed memory when the world around turns in agony and the time seems to stand still starts the medieval slavic influenced ZA SERBSKEJU GOLU. I like the athmosphere and all the pain and hurt in her voice in contribution with the marching slavic melody a lot. As so many times is the guitarwork by RADEK SADOVSKY there fine and filigran and evry moment to the point. A good final smasher turns around with the good time roller POLOCAS ROZKLA DU. Think I will this album even now give another spin.
